Bathing safely at home in Villa Hills
Villa Hills (ZIP 41017) is a hilltop residential Kenton County city above the river, made up largely of mid-century and newer single-family homes.
There are firms offering to cut an opening into an existing tub and fit a seal: cheaper, quicker, done in a day. We do not, because the whole engineering of a walk-in tub is a door in a molded shell designed around it, and a retrofitted opening in steel or cast iron relies on a bonded joint holding back standing water for years. It is a leak waiting to happen in a room you cannot easily protect. We take the old tub out and build the bathroom around a purpose-built walk-in tub chosen for you.

Answers to your Villa Hills questions
No. If you have been quoted for a conversion kit, ask the seller who warrants the joint and what happens to the floor below if it lets go; the answers usually settle it. We remove the old tub and fit a purpose-built walk-in in its place.
It is cheaper and it is not something we would put in a client’s house. We would rather explain why and lose the job than fit one.
