Bathing safely at home in Sedamsville
Sedamsville (ZIP 45204) sits on the west-side hillside above River Road between Riverside and Sayler Park, with much of its housing climbing the slope and dating to the late 1800s and early 1900s.
A walk-in tub is deeper than a standard one and holds substantially more water, and that load sits on an upstairs floor in a house whose joists have been notched by a century of plumbers. It is not usually a problem, but it is genuinely worth establishing rather than assuming. We look at what is carrying the bathroom before we specify a model, and where the structure needs reinforcing we say so at quotation rather than after.

Answers to your Sedamsville questions
Usually, but it deserves checking in a house this age: a walk-in holds considerably more water than the tub it replaces. We look at the joists under the bathroom before specifying a model.
It is straightforward work while the floor is open, and it goes in the quote up front. What we will not do is set several hundred extra pounds on a floor without looking at it.
