Aging in place in North Bend
North Bend (ZIP 45052) is a historic far-west village on the Ohio River, the burial place of President William Henry Harrison, with older homes set on low riverside ground.
Houses of this age have moved, and a bathroom floor that looks fine can be out half an inch across its width. With a standard tub that is a cosmetic issue. With a walk-in it decides everything: the door seal is engineered to close against a square frame, and a tub set out of level puts it permanently out of true. The substrate gets checked with a level and brought true before the tub goes in.

What North Bend homeowners ask us
Because the door seal closes against a square frame. Set the tub out of level and the door is permanently out of true, which is where seal problems begin.
Self-leveling compound over a sound substrate, checked with a level before the tub is set. It adds a few hours and it prevents the most common cause of early failure.
