Staying in your Mount Auburn home, comfortably.
Mount Auburn (ZIP 45219) is one of Cincinnati’s oldest hilltop neighborhoods, rising just north of downtown and Over-the-Rhine, lined with grand 19th-century homes and historic mansions, many now divided into apartments.
A walk-in tub suits the person it was bought for and is genuinely awkward for everyone else: the high walls make it poor for showering standing up, and the door seal means it cannot be left part-filled. Where a bathroom serves more than one person, or where a unit may be rented out to someone else later, that matters. A second bathroom, or a shower elsewhere in the house, changes the calculation entirely.

Common questions from Mount Auburn homeowners
They can, but a walk-in tub is awkward to shower in standing up because of the high walls. Where a bathroom serves several people, that is worth weighing before committing.
It narrows the pool. A walk-in tub is a strong feature for the right tenant or buyer and a drawback for others. We would rather say that plainly.
