A safer bath for a Ludlow household
Ludlow (ZIP 41016) is a historic Northern Kentucky river town with a walkable Elm Street business district and streets of well-preserved Victorian and early-1900s homes.
A surprising number of bathrooms here still have an original hexagonal or mosaic floor under later coverings. With a walk-in tub there is a genuine tension: the tub must sit dead level on a sound substrate, and a century-old tile floor is neither guaranteed. Sometimes it can be retained with the tub set to it; sometimes the honest answer is that the floor has to come up. We lift a corner and tell you which before you decide.
