What a walk-in tub takes in Hartwell
Hartwell (ZIP 45215) is a historic north-side neighborhood that grew as a streetcar suburb, known for its Victorian and early-1900s homes on tree-lined streets.
People occasionally ask whether a door can be cut into an existing clawfoot, and the answer is no. A walk-in tub is engineered around a sealed door in a molded shell, and a retrofitted opening in cast iron will not hold. What can happen is the clawfoot moving to another position if the room allows, with a proper walk-in tub installed where the plumbing already runs. In a bathroom this size that is often achievable.

Answers to your Hartwell questions
No, and be wary of any kit that promises it, since a cast-iron clawfoot has no way to carry a sealed door. The better question is whether your clawfoot is worth keeping elsewhere or passing on, because sound original ones are sought after by salvage dealers and restorers.
Where the room allows, yes: the clawfoot moves and the walk-in goes where the plumbing already runs. In a bathroom this size it is frequently achievable.
