Staying in your Evanston home, comfortably.
Evanston (ZIP 45207) is an east-side neighborhood next to Xavier University, with streets of early-1900s homes and apartment buildings, some now student housing.
Grab bars fitted to a standard layout are decoration. Bars that work are placed for the specific movements this person makes: the hand they lead with stepping through the door, where they reach to lower themselves onto the seat, what they push against to rise. That means watching, or at least asking, before drilling. It costs nothing extra and it is the difference between a bar that gets used and one that gets ignored.

Common questions from Evanston homeowners
Placed for how this person actually moves: which hand leads through the door, where they reach to sit, what they push against to stand. Standard placements are guesswork.
Only safely where blocking went in behind the surround first. We fit blocking whether or not the bars go up on day one.
