Walk-In Tubs in East End, Cincinnati, OH

The East End (ZIP 45226) is a narrow riverfront neighborhood stretching east of downtown along Eastern Avenue below Columbia Parkway, with historic river cottages and newer condominiums squeezed between the hillside and the Ohio River.

In the older cottages the bathroom is nearly always a later addition tacked onto the back, built lighter than the original house and sometimes on a shallower foundation. A walk-in tub full of water is exactly the load that finds the limits of that construction. Before one goes into a room like that, the floor structure gets checked properly and frequently stiffened, and where it cannot be, we say so.
