Step-in showers for Fairfax bathrooms
Fairfax (ZIP 45227) is a small east-side village along Wooster Pike near Mariemont, with established early- and mid-1900s homes.
A hairline crack in a molded surround is usually a symptom rather than the problem. Those units flex where they are unsupported, and once one crack appears the movement that caused it has not gone anywhere, so a repair kit buys a season and the crack returns beside the patch. Worse, water has generally been passing through it for a while, which means the substrate behind wants checking. We would rather open it and tell you what is really going on than sell you a patch twice.

Answers to your Fairfax questions
Temporarily. The crack comes from flex in an unsupported panel, and a patch does not remove the flex, so it reappears beside the repair. By then water has usually reached the substrate.
Soft spots, staining at the base, or a floor that gives underfoot near the surround. We open a small area on the site visit rather than guessing from the surface.
