What actually drives your cost
Acrylic or tile
An acrylic base and wall surround is the least expensive route, and it is still fitted and finished to your space. A tile shower costs more because it is built in layers: waterproofing membrane, then tile, niches and grout.
Curb or curbless
A low-curb base sits on the existing floor. A curbless, zero-entry shower needs the floor built down to a linear drain so water stays in the shower, which adds labor and materials but gives true step-free access.
Glass
A framed sliding or hinged door is the most economical. Frameless glass costs more, and low-iron glass with custom hardware sits at the top of the range.
Size and layout
Our ranges assume a typical 5x3 to 6x4 footprint. A larger shower, a shower that replaces a tub in an awkward alcove, or moving the drain is quoted individually.
Safety and accessibility features
Anti-slip ADA-approved bases, grab bars, a built-in or fold-down seat and a handheld shower add modest cost and make the shower usable for longer.
