Before you replace a tub in Fairfax
Fairfax (ZIP 45227) is a small east-side village along Wooster Pike near Mariemont, with established early- and mid-1900s homes.
A hairline crack in an acrylic or fiberglass tub is a symptom rather than the problem. Those bases flex where they are unsupported, and a repair kit does nothing about the movement that caused it, so the crack reappears beside the patch. Worse, water has usually been passing through it for a while, which means the floor beneath wants checking. We would rather open it up and tell you what is actually going on than sell you a repair twice.

Answers to your Fairfax questions
Temporarily. The crack comes from flex in an unsupported base, and a patch does not remove the flex, so it returns beside the repair. By then water has usually reached the floor.
A floor that gives near the tub, staining below, or a soft spot at the apron. We open a small area on the site visit rather than guessing.
