Before you replace a tub in Erlanger
Erlanger (ZIP 41018) is an established Kenton County city near the airport, with settled mid-century neighborhoods and a mix of older and newer homes.
Nearly every complaint we hear about an aging tub is the diverter, the pull-up knob on the spout that sends water to the shower. It is a small mechanical part working in hard water and it wears out, which is why the shower dribbles while half the water still runs into the tub. Where the diverter is built into the spout it is a cheap replacement; where it is in the valve body it is a wall job. Which you have is worth knowing before it fails.

Questions about tub shower combos in Erlanger
A worn diverter. Where it is in the spout it is an inexpensive swap; where it is in the valve body it means opening the wall, which is why a tub replacement is the sensible moment to deal with it.
A valve-body diverter feels better and lasts longer; a spout diverter is far cheaper to replace when it goes. We will tell you which your setup has.
