What a Columbia-Tusculum tub and shower needs
Columbia-Tusculum (ZIP 45226) is Cincinnati’s oldest neighborhood, settled in 1788, known for its colorful "Painted Ladies" (restored Victorian homes) on the east side near the Ohio River.
People restore houses here properly, and the molded plastic skirt on a standard alcove tub is the single item most likely to look wrong in a room like this. A paneled timber apron, or a tiled one detailed to meet the floor cleanly, costs modestly more and changes the character of the whole installation. The tub behind it can be an ordinary modern unit. It is the visible face that decides whether it belongs.

Answers to your Columbia-Tusculum questions
Mostly through the apron, ideally built to echo the trim already in the room. Bring a photo of the door or baseboard profile you most want to match, and we will build the apron with an access panel so the drain and overflow can still be reached later.
On the lower ground it is worth checking the floor structure before setting a heavy tub, particularly a cast-iron one. We look at what is underneath on the site visit.
