Bathroom Remodeling in Mariemont, OH

Mariemont (ZIP 45227) was laid out in the 1920s as a planned garden community and is now a National Historic Landmark, known for Tudor Revival architecture around its village square. That designation matters practically: exterior alterations are reviewed, so anything that changes a window, a roofline or a wall from the outside needs to be settled before it is designed, not after.

Inside, the story is a century of wear on original plumbing. Mariemont baths were built for 1920s fixtures and 1920s expectations: small footprints, one bath serving several bedrooms, and supply lines that have been in the wall since the village was built. The work here is bringing the function up to date while leaving the envelope and the character alone, which is a different discipline from a straightforward gut.
