What sits under a Florence bathroom floor
Florence (ZIP 41042) is the largest city in Boone County and one of the fastest-growing in Northern Kentucky, with a wide mix of mid-century neighborhoods and newer subdivisions around the Florence Mall area.
A great many homes here were built with sheet vinyl over a particleboard underlayment, and particleboard has one behavior that matters: it swells irreversibly the first time it gets wet and never recovers. Around a toilet or a tub edge that has weeped, it is often crumbling by the time anyone lifts the vinyl. It has to come out rather than be tiled over, and that is far better established at quotation than at demolition.

Soft spots underfoot and staining around fixtures are the tell. We lift a corner to confirm rather than pricing on a guess.
