Modern kitchens in older Batavia homes
Batavia (ZIP 45103) is the Clermont County seat, a village on the East Fork of the Little Miami with a historic center and township ground around it.
The village core holds genuine period houses: plaster, original proportions and kitchens built as working rooms. The first practical question is whether an address sits inside the village or in the surrounding township, since they are separate authorities with separate processes. That gets established before anything else, along with the era of the house itself.

Answers to your Batavia questions
It decides which authority issues the permit and which rules apply. We confirm which side of the boundary an address falls on first.
Much of it is, which shows in the kitchen as plaster walls, tall openings and floors that have moved over time. We check floors for level and walls for square before cabinets are ordered, since out-of-true rooms are normal there and the cabinet plan has to absorb them.
