How Much Does a Basement Remodel Cost in Cincinnati?
Short answer: finishing a basement with Bulldog typically costs $33 to $60 per square foot, or about $25,000 to $60,000 for an 800 to 1,000 square foot basement with no new plumbing. Adding a bathroom or wet bar usually brings the total to $50,000 to $90,000, and a full lower-level suite can pass $100,000. Your exact, fixed price comes after we see the space.

What Moves the Number
What actually drives your cost
Moisture and drainage come first
A basement has to be dry before it is finished. Depending on the house that can mean a perimeter drain channel piped to a sump, regrading, or simply confirming the space has no water history. Skipping this step is why so many finished basements have to be done twice.
Adding a bathroom or bar
Plumbing below grade is the biggest single jump in cost. A basement ¾ bath typically adds roughly $20,000 to $30,000+ and a wet bar $20,000 and up, because supply and drain lines have to be run to the right place. We handle that plumbing in-house.
Bedrooms and egress
A room used for sleeping needs a code-compliant egress window or door. A walkout basement often has this already; otherwise cutting in an egress window typically adds $3,600 to $5,000, including excavation and cutting the foundation.
Ceiling height and what’s overhead
Low ceilings, ductwork and beams decide how much of the space can be finished as is and how much has to be boxed in or rerouted. In older Cincinnati homes the condition of stone or early masonry foundations matters too.
Size and finishes
Square footage drives framing, drywall, electrical and flooring. Built-ins, a media wall, cabinetry and lighting are where personal taste moves the number most.
Timeline
How long does a basement remodel take?
Most finished basements take a few weeks on site, depending on size and scope. Because we order and stage every material before day one, the build runs on a tight, predictable schedule with daily updates.
No Surprises
Why our price is fixed
Basement budgets usually move when water or foundation problems turn up mid-build. We assess moisture, drainage and structure before we quote, then give you one itemized, fixed-price contract, so the number you approve is the number you pay.

What homeowners in Greater Cincinnati say about Bulldog Remodel Group
Mount Lookout, Cincinnati, OH · Custom Home Remodel
Mark Davidson
At first, I wondered how Bulldog could possibly turn a home we already loved into our dream home. But when we saw the design concepts, we were completely blown away. Before the renovation, our house never truly felt like our home, and since I work from home, I also needed a dedicated office. We wanted a space where our kids could grow up before heading off to college. From the very beginning, the Bulldog team was welcoming, communicative, and supportive. They gave us time to make decisions, listened to what we wanted, and guided us through every step of the renovation. As homeowners, having experts handle every detail made the process so much easier. When we saw the finished project, it honestly brought tears to my eyes. It became the dream home we had imagined. Everyone was professional, courteous to our kids and dogs, and a pleasure to work with. We’ll definitely use Bulldog again. They’re simply the best.
“We would highly recommend Bulldog Remodel Group. They helped us design and finish our basement. They worked within our budget, showed up on time, cleaned up every day, and all of their contractors were courteous and professional.
