Custom Homes in Pendleton, Cincinnati, OH

Pendleton (ZIP 45202) is a compact neighborhood on the eastern edge of Over-the-Rhine, a few blocks of 19th-century Italianate buildings standing shoulder to shoulder on a tight street grid.

Any new building here is infill into a continuous street wall, which makes it two projects at once. There is the design question (how a new facade meets its neighbors on height, cornice, window rhythm and materials) and there is the construction question of working safely between two standing buildings, which means surveying them first, then underpinning and shoring as the excavation requires. Where design review applies to a parcel is determined by the city, and we establish it before drawings.
