How do you handle the scale question?

By designing the massing deliberately: where the bulk sits, how the ridge line relates to the neighbors, how the front elevation breaks up. It is a drawing-stage decision.

Planning a custom home around Mount Lookout

Mount Lookout (ZIP 45226) sits on the ridge above the river on the east side, a settled neighborhood around Mount Lookout Square with tree-lined streets and housing running from early-1900s frame to mid-century brick.

New building here is nearly always a replacement on an existing lot, and the design question that matters most is scale. A house built out to the full permitted envelope on a street of smaller older homes reads as out of place however good the detailing is. Getting the massing right (how the ridge line sits against its neighbors, where the bulk goes, how the front elevation is broken up) is the difference between a new house that settles into a street and one that argues with it.

Bathroom Remodel

Double Take

Two bathrooms reimagined with luxe tile, custom vanities and spa-level details. The primary bath pairs a white double vanity and storage tower with a marble-look tiled tub.
